Alive for Health and Progress (AHPI) is an LGBTQI community-based organization which focuses extensively on the well-being and capacity building of LGBTQI persons in Nigerian. AHPI is registered with Corporate Affairs commission. AHPIs objectives includes intervening for the (HRM) community in Nigeria using the HIV/AIDs and Human Rights approach. The organization has made frantic efforts in unifying the LGBTQI community within its Local government of implementation to increase access to care and tackle societal attacks by building their self-esteem and confidence in making informed decisions in regards to their health and sexuality, furthermore the organization has collaborated with relevant Government agencies and intermediaries to ensure an improved service delivery for LGBTQI persons through advocacy, experience sharing, documentation of LGBTQI rights violations and outreaches targeting the media and the public through our social media pages. Over the years of existence, the organization has shown competency in any project they are implementing through the organizational team which comprises of the Executive Director, Finance and Administrative Officer, Program Manager, Monitoring and evaluation officer, Gender and Human Right Officer, Care and Support Officer, Community Facilitators and Peer Educators.
AHPI is currently implementing the HALG Key population Community HIV Service Action and Response KP-CARE1 for HRM, with services which include STI treatment, HTS, ART services, index client testing, gender-based violence service and other services to ensure HRM receive a comprehensive package of HIV/AIDS prevention service. One of the core deliverables of the KP-CARE project is to increase ART uptake across HALG-OSS across the state, this is geared towards achieving the UNAIDS 95:95:95 target and epidemic control of HIV/AIDS with entry point being HTS. Ten LGAs have been delineated to AHPI for the KP-CARE1 project namely Ikot Ekpene, Abak, Etim Ekpo, Obot Akara, Essien Udim, Ikono, Ukanafun, Oruk Anam, Ini and Ika
